Also known as "Scorzone" or "Tartufo d'estate", it is a very well-known specimen among truffle connoisseurs because it has a scent and flavor that can give great satisfaction to even the most demanding palates. The nutty aroma is evident and in the well-ripened forms a scent of brewer's yeast can be appreciated. The ripening period runs from late spring to late autumn.
